Zoom Training at Our February Membership Meeting

At our January member meeting, our members voted to implement a zoom option for attending future member meetings. Members discussed how they wanted to be able to safely attend meetings if they were sick or otherwise needed to be remote.

One of our members, Karin, stepped up to create and facilitate a zoom training for the other members at the February meeting. She showed the other members how to use their phones to join a meeting, use the raise hand function, mute and unmute their mics, and how to turn on their cameras. SWU staff showed members how our Owl camera works to allow handsfree camera movement and how to join our WhatsApp channel for updates and announcements.

The members were empowered by learning a new technology and skill set. Allowing a hybrid option for meetings also allows SWU to continue to practice COVID and other safety precautions as well as offering more accessibility options to our members and community.
