WRAPPING UP OUR CPS ENERGY DOOR KNOCKING AND PHONE BANKING CAMPAIGN

From August 28th, 2023 to December 7, 2023 our canvassing teams called 16,735 people, knocked on 18,881 doors and had 6,320 conversations with local residents. Our aim was to share information on ongoing issues that will affect our communities and engage people to take actions.

We want to thank the community members that requested 2,485 postcards be mailed out on their behalf to elected officials and supported the effort to stop a second CPS Energy rate hike in 2 years. We may have failed to stop Mayor Ron Nnirenberg and the 7 City Council members that voted to raise our electric bills, but during the process it was made clear where they stand moving forward. We would like to thank our canvass teams for all the hard work they put in reaching out to educate community members. We’d also like to thank the three City Council Members Jalen McKee-Rodriguez, Teri Castillo and Marc Whyte for putting the interest of their constituents ahead of their own ambitions in choosing to vote no to another CPS Energy rate hike request!

We will continue our work in January fighting for equity in our communities and would love to have community members join us in the fight, please consider volunteering to phone bank and knock on doors in 2024.
