Back to School Resource and Health Fair

Southwest Workers Union’s (SWU) is hosting the 8th annual Back to School & Health Fair that will include free services and resources for members and community. The valuable resources include school supplies, gently used clothes, health resources, free haircuts, and a safe environment to connect with family, friends, and community. This will be our 8th year organizing the event, and we want it to continue to offer this support to our members and community.

Southwest Workers Union is currently taking community donations now through August 8th, 2019 at our Movement Gallery on 1412 E Commerce St Monday through Friday from 10-4pm.

Our current wish list includes, but is not limited to:

• School Supplies

• Backpacks,

• folders,

• markers,

• crayons

• spirals

• cash donations,

• movie/food vouchers,

• and/or food donations,

• reusable straws and cutlery,

• door prizes,

• art supplies,

• children’s toys and board games

There will be a variety or organizations present including, Medico MD, Bibliotech, Healthy Communities, Texas Healthy Steps, low-cost vaccinations, free food, and more. The resources will be available on a first come, first serve basis with priority going to families with children present.
